About Time
TIME was founded in 1987 in Nevers, France, by engineer Roland Cattin — initially producing clipless pedals before moving into carbon frame construction at a point when carbon was still largely unproven in cycling. That engineering-first instinct shaped two proprietary techniques that remain unique to TIME today: Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) and Braided Carbon Structure (BCS), where carbon fibres are woven directly into tubular shapes rather than laid up in sheets. The result is a frame that’s stiff under power but noticeably more forgiving over rough roads than most carbon competitors — a combination TIME has built its reputation on for nearly four decades.
TIME’s racing pedigree runs through Grand Tour stage wins and cycling’s biggest one-day Monuments, and the brand’s Alpe d’Huez model is named directly after the sport’s most famous climb. Headquartered in Voreppe, France, with frame production at its dedicated carbon facility in Gajary, Slovakia, TIME remains one of the few brands in the world that still weaves and moulds its own carbon in-house rather than outsourcing production.
