Time Scylon Frameset XL
£4,399.00
One of the most technically advanced road framesets available today, the TIME Scylon combines a 12% aerodynamic improvement and a 100g+ weight reduction with the legendary ride quality that has made it a benchmark since 2014. This XL in Pearl is in stock now and ready to build — no waiting, no order lead time.
Key Products
- Gen 2 Braided Carbon Structure (BCS) — M46J/T800 hybrid carbon layup; pedalling stiffness maintained, torsional stiffness improved by 9% over the previous generation
- 12% aerodynamic improvement — achieved via CFD analysis and evolved airfoil tube profiles on the down tube and seat tube
- Redesigned Powerbox chainstay — 20% lighter than the original, rebuilt in ultra-high modulus fibre; clearance for 32c tyres throughout
- Full internal cable routing — compatible with all major electronic shifting systems; no proprietary lock-in
- Proprietary SCYLON aero seatpost included — patented rail clamping system with -20mm / +10mm offset range; compatible with 7mm round and 7×9mm oval rails
- Flat mount disc brakes — front and rear; 140/160mm rotor compatibility with adapter
- XL-specific geometry — two fork offset options across the size range to maintain consistent handling and ride quality at scale
Description
The TIME Scylon Frameset
TIME spent almost two years engineering the second-generation Scylon, and the result shows. The frame is built around TIME’s proprietary Braided Carbon Structure using M46J and T800 carbon fibre — two materials with different modulus characteristics combined into a single layup that balances stiffness, strength, and ride compliance in a way a single-material layup simply can’t match.
The aerodynamics have been refined through CFD analysis and evolved tube shaping, with airfoil-profile down tube and seat tube reducing frontal area without the weight penalty that typically comes with bigger aero sections. TIME claims a 12% reduction in drag over the previous generation — and the Scylon XL geometry means taller riders finally get a race-oriented frameset scaled correctly, rather than a medium stretched to fit.
Powerbox Chainstay and Cable Integration
The signature one-piece Powerbox chainstay — one of TIME’s most recognisable design features — has been rebuilt in ultra-high modulus fibre. The result is a 20% weight reduction in that component alone, with clearance for up to 32c tyres and no compromise on the power transfer characteristics that defined the original. Combined with full internal cable routing compatible across all major electronic groupsets, the Scylon is ready for whatever drivetrain you’re building around it.
Pearl: An Iridescent Finish Built for the Light
The Pearl colourway sits apart from the more aggressive Brilliant Red and Brilliant Purple options. It catches the light differently depending on angle and conditions — subdued on overcast days, genuinely striking in sun. If you’re building a custom machine and want the frame to work with rather than fight your component choices, Pearl is the most versatile finish TIME offers on the Scylon.

What's included with the Scylon frameset?
The frameset ships with the FSA headset, front and rear thru axles, TIME’s proprietary SCYLON aero carbon seatpost, semi-integrated seatpost clamp, alloy bottle bolts, and front and rear derailleur hangers. We can build the rest of the bike for you or you’ll need to source a stem, bars, groupset, wheels, and pedals separately.
Which groupsets are compatible?
The Scylon is compatible with all major electronic shifting systems via standard front and rear derailleur mounts. The internal routing is multi-brand compatible — Shimano Di2, SRAM eTap, and Campagnolo EPS all work. Mechanical groupsets will also fit via the standard mounts. Check with us if you’re unsure about a specific build.
What tyre clearance does the XL frameset offer?
Up to 700×32c, though TIME notes that compatibility depends on your wheel’s internal rim width. For rims with a 25mm internal width, 32c tyres fit without issue. For narrower rims (21mm and below), 30c is the recommended maximum. Come in and we can check your wheel compatibility before you build.
Is this frameset compatible with rim brake wheels?
No. The Scylon is disc brake only — flat mount, front and rear — with 140/160mm rotor compatibility using an adapter.
What bottom bracket does the Scylon use?
PF 386 EVO. This is a press-fit standard that accepts threaded inserts if you prefer a threaded setup, and is compatible with a wide range of cranksets. We can advise on the right BB choice once you’ve settled on your groupset.
