Orca Core Bikini: Compressive Performance, Two-Piece Comfort
The Core Bikini sits in the same range as Orca’s Core one-piece swimsuits, sharing the same fabric, the same recycled material credentials, and the same chlorine-resistant properties — in a two-piece format for swimmers who prefer that style for training and open water.
The 78% polyamide / 22% elastane construction delivers the compressive fit that distinguishes a performance swimsuit from recreational swimwear. It sits close to the body, reduces drag in the water, and holds its shape across repeated use. Wide straps provide more coverage and support than a thin-strap design, making the Core Bikini a practical choice for longer training sessions.
Chlorine Resistance and Durability
Pool chlorine degrades swimwear fabric over time, causing it to lose stretch, shape, and colour faster than it should. Orca’s Core fabric is formulated specifically for higher chlorine resistance, meaning the compressive properties are retained for longer with appropriate post-swim care — a meaningful advantage for anyone swimming regularly across a full season.
The suit is made with 80% recycled materials, independently verified to Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification. As with all compressive swimwear, Orca advise sizing up if you’re between sizes.

How does the Core Bikini differ from the Core One Piece?
The fabric, fit, and performance properties are identical — same polyamide/elastane composition, same chlorine resistance, same 80% recycled construction. The difference is purely the style: the Bikini is a two-piece with wide straps, while the one-piece offers full torso coverage. Both are suited to pool and open water training.
Is this suitable for open water swimming?
Yes. The compressive fabric and secure fit work well in open water as well as the pool. In cold open water conditions, a wetsuit would typically go on top, but the Core Bikini is a practical base layer for wetsuit swimming and a capable standalone suit in warmer open water.
How should I care for the swimsuit?
Rinse thoroughly in cold fresh water after every swim to remove chlorine, salt, and other residues. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or dry in direct sunlight. Air dry away from heat. These steps are important for preserving the chlorine-resistant properties of the fabric over time.
