Orca Athlex Float Men’s Wetsuit V2

£249.00

The Orca Athlex Float V2 men’s wetsuit, made with Yamamoto neoprene, combines high buoyancy with high elasticity, resulting in a very balanced wetsuit for swimmers who need extra buoyancy to achieve the correct position in the water. This wetsuit’s distribution of thicknesses optimises the swimmer’s position in the water, ensuring they can tackle triathlons with confidence. Plus, the use of highly elastic materials in the shoulders and arms and the removal of the graphics in the shoulder area means the Athlex Float V2 enables you to enjoy every stroke without restrictions.

  • Key Features

    • Yamamoto neoprene construction — premium Japanese neoprene for flexibility and durability.
    • 4.5mm leg panels — concentrated buoyancy in the legs holds a horizontal swim position.
    • High-elasticity shoulders, arms and back — unrestricted stroke through the full range of motion.
    • Graphics-free shoulder panel — removes a stiffness point for extra flexibility on the catch and pull.
    • SCS hydrodynamic treatment — reduces drag for a faster, more efficient swim.
    • Quick-release hydrophobic materials — sheds water fast for quicker T1 transitions.
    • 95% neoprene / 5% polyamide composition — balances stretch with structural durability.

Orca Athlex Float Men’s Wetsuit V2

    Balanced buoyancy for open-water confidence

The Athlex Float V2 is built for triathletes who need extra buoyancy to hold the correct swimming position without sacrificing freedom of movement. Orca uses Yamamoto neoprene throughout, with 4.5mm panels concentrated in the legs to lift the lower body and keep swimmers horizontal and elevated in the water for longer — reducing drag and protecting technique even as fatigue sets in during a race.

Where the Athlex Float V2 earns its “balanced” tag is through the upper body. Highly elastic materials in the shoulders, arms and back give a full range of motion through every stroke, and Orca has removed the shoulder graphics entirely on this panel — a small change that further increases flexibility exactly where triathletes need it most: the catch and pull phase.

    Hydrodynamics and quick transitions

Orca applies an SCS (Super Composite Skin) treatment to the exterior of the suit, reducing surface friction and helping swimmers hold pace through training sessions and race day alike. The neoprene composition — 95% neoprene, 5% polyamide (nylon) — is also chosen for its hydrophobic properties, meaning the suit sheds water quickly and comes off fast in transition, which matters when seconds count.

    Who it suits

The Float V2 sits in Orca’s range for swimmers who benefit from added buoyancy — typically those with a weaker kick, less experienced open-water swimmers, or anyone whose legs tend to sink. If you’re already a strong, balanced swimmer, the Athlex Flex V2 or Flow V2 (lower buoyancy, higher elasticity) may suit better — worth a chat with Stef if you’re unsure which fits your stroke.

Care note: rinse thoroughly in fresh water after every use (chlorine and salt degrade neoprene), air dry away from direct sunlight, and store on a hanger draped from the waist — never by the shoulders.

FAQ

Questions and answers relating to Orca Athlex Float Men’s Wetsuit V2

Is the Athlex Float V2 suitable for beginners?

Answer

Yes — its extra buoyancy through the legs makes it a good match for swimmers who are newer to open water or who find their legs tend to sink, helping hold a more horizontal, efficient position.

What's the difference between the Athlex Float, Flex and Flow?

Answer

Float gives the most buoyancy for swimmers who need extra lift. Flex prioritises elasticity and freedom of movement for stronger swimmers. Flow sits in between, balancing buoyancy and stretch. If you’re unsure which suits your stroke, ask in-store and we’ll help you choose.

Does it come with anything else in the box?

Answer

Fabric gloves are included to help you put the wetsuit on without snagging or damaging the neoprene.

What sizes does it come in?

Answer

Orca’s men’s chart runs from size 4 to 11 (plus MT), based on chest, height and weight. Full sizing details are at the bottom of this page. We’d always recommend popping in for a fitting if you live locally
