The Garmin Edge 1060 is Garmin’s flagship GPS cycling computer and the first Edge you can talk to. A built-in microphone and speaker give you hands-free voice control and spoken navigation prompts. It also has a 3.5″ colour touchscreen with buttons, multi-band GPS, and up to 20 hours of battery in demanding use. It’s built for riders who want navigation, training insight and safety features in one unit.

Garmin Edge 1060: hands-free control for serious cyclists
The Edge 1060 adds something no previous Edge had: a microphone and speaker. You can control the unit by voice and hear navigation prompts out loud, so your hands stay on the bars and your eyes stay on the road. Paired with your phone, it also sends and receives text and voice messages through the Garmin Messenger app.
Navigation built around how you ride
Routing adapts to road, gravel or MTB, and can suggest training routes with fewer junctions and stops so you hold your effort. Up Ahead shows the distance to cafés, water and toilets on your course. Course previews show elevation, surface mix and traffic levels before you set off. Courses sync from Garmin Connect, Strava, Komoot and Ride with GPS. You can also build routes on the device itself, and Wi-Fi lets you add or update maps without a computer.
Training, pacing and fuelling
Real-time stamina shows how much you have left at your current effort. Power Guide sets power targets that account for altitude and wind. Smart fuelling prompts you to eat and drink based on the course, your fitness and the conditions. Pair a compatible Garmin watch and the Edge can show its data screens. That’s a real advantage on race day if you already train with a Garmin multisport watch.
Safety and connectivity
The Edge 1060 works with Varia radar and lights, and incident detection now covers off-road riding. GroupRide adds in-ride messaging and live locations for everyone in the group. It integrates with Shimano Di2 and SRAM AXS, pairs with smart trainers for indoor sessions, and can reverse-charge a phone or light in an emergency.

Does the voice control need my phone connected?
Voice commands run through the Edge’s own built-in microphone. Sending and receiving text or voice messages needs a connected smartphone running the Garmin Messenger app. Voice control is available in selected languages, and how well it works can vary with wind and road noise.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 20 hours in demanding use, such as navigation with sensors connected, and up to 60 hours in battery saver mode. For ultra-distance events you can extend it further with a Garmin power mount and charge battery pack.
Will it work with my Shimano Di2 or SRAM AXS groupset?
Yes. It integrates with both. You can see battery levels and gear selection, use your shifters to scroll data screens, and get a breakdown of time spent in each gear after the ride.
Can I use it on my indoor trainer?
Yes. The Edge 1060 pairs with compatible smart trainers, so you can control the trainer and record indoor sessions from the same unit you ride outdoors with.
I already have a Garmin multisport watch. Is there any benefit to pairing them?
Yes. Extended display lets a compatible Garmin watch show its data screens on the Edge, and your training load and status stay unified across both devices in Garmin Connect.
Which mounts come in the box?
A flush out-front mount, a standard mount and a tether, plus the charging/data cable.
