Aero Without the Complications The E-117 is often referred to as the “practical superbike.” While it shares the aerodynamic DNA of its more expensive siblings (like the E-119), it utilises a standard front-end setup. This makes it significantly easier to pack for overseas races and allows for standard handlebar and stem adjustments—crucial for riders still refining their aero tuck. The Stealth Black finish provides a matte, low-drag aesthetic that looks fast even when standing still.
Shimano Di2 Electronic Integration The inclusion of Shimano Di2 is a game-changer for triathletes. Is the E-117 easy to travel with?
Yes. Unlike many modern “integrated” superbikes, the E-117 uses a traditional stem and handlebar interface. This means you don’t have to bleed brakes or dismantle complex cable routing just to fit the bike into a standard bike box.
Can I fit 28mm tyres to this frame?
Absolutely. The disc brake version of the E-117 is designed with modern rim standards in mind and has ample clearance for 28mm tyres, providing a smoother ride and lower rolling resistance on rougher tarmac.
Why choose the E-117 over the more expensive E-119?
The E-117 offers 95% of the performance at a much lower price point. It’s also significantly easier to maintain and adjust. For many age-group athletes, the ability to easily tweak their position and travel stress-free makes the E-117 the more practical “real world” choice.
What is the "Stealth Black" finish like?
