KASK was founded in 2004 by Angelo Gotti in Chiuduno, a small town just east of Bergamo in northern Italy. Gotti was no newcomer to helmet design — he had started work aged 16 with a safety helmet manufacturer, working his way from the warehouse to heading up the technical office before deciding to build something of his own. His ambition from the start was to make helmets that were genuinely better: safer, more comfortable, and designed with an Italian eye for aesthetics that the market hadn’t yet seen.

The brand’s philosophy is built around three principles — Comfort, Safety, Design — and every KASK helmet is still developed and manufactured entirely in Italy. The road cycling range made its Tour de France debut in 2007 when the Barloworld team’s Mauricio Soler won the King of the Mountains competition wearing a specially produced polka-dot KS-10. Since then KASK has accumulated seven Tour de France victories, three Giro d’Italia titles, two Vuelta a España victories, and multiple Olympic gold medals including Paris 2024. The Protone Icon, Elemento and Utopia Y are the current flagship road models, used by Ineos Grenadiers and worn by Filippo Ganna to his Hour Record in 2022 — the first rider to surpass Chris Boardman’s 1996 benchmark distance. Over a million KASK helmets are sold annually across more than 80 countries, all still made in Italy without exception.
