About Aquasphere

Aquasphere was established in Genoa, Italy in 1998 by Italian engineers P. Ferraro and G. Beltrani, whose background was in the scuba diving industry. The insight they brought from diving was simple but transformative: curved lenses eliminate the visual distortion that flat goggle lenses create underwater. It took two years of experimenting, testing and prototyping to patent the first curved lens with no visibility distortion — the Seal swim mask.

From that single innovation, Aquasphere built its reputation as the swim eyewear expert. The Kaiman and Kayenne goggles became staples among triathletes and open water swimmers specifically for their wide field of vision, leak resistance and all-day wearability — qualities that matter on a 3.8km ocean swim in a way they simply don’t in a 25-metre pool. Through an in-house R&D department and manufacturing facilities in Italy, Aquasphere designs and builds swim goggles combining performance, reliability and comfort, and has since expanded into wetsuits, swimwear, and training accessories — all built around the same principle: gear that works for people who swim in real conditions, not just ideal ones.
