The usual trade-off with semi-aero road helmets is that you sacrifice airflow for a faster shape. HJC built the Furion 3 to close that gap. It’s the product of 55 years of helmet manufacturing experience, wind-tunnel developed, and raced at WorldTour level by the Total Energies team — so the aero credentials are backed by real racing use, not just marketing copy. The frontal design pulls air directly into the helmet, and COOLPATH™ padding lets that airflow move freely over the scalp rather than getting trapped, with hot air drawn out through the rear vents.

SELFIT PRO™: Fit That Actually Fine-Tunes

Where the Furion 3 stands out is fit. SELFIT PRO™ builds on HJC’s existing SELFIT™ automatic fitting system by adding a micro-adjustment dial, developed in collaboration with professional riders. Combined with a 5-step snap-fit system, it’s designed to adjust properly to different head shapes rather than forcing a compromise — useful if you’ve struggled to get a locked-in fit from helmets with a single-size cradle before.

Safety Beyond a Single Impact Type

Rather than optimising for just one kind of impact, the Furion 3 layers several protection systems. SLID™ uses a gel material inside the liner to reduce rotational impact energy transferred to the brain. An internal reinforcement structure — a skeletal frame integrated into the EPS — adds strength and holds the helmet together more effectively in a collision. In-mould construction bonds the EPS liner to the polycarbonate outer shell for further structural integrity.

It also comes with a spare set of pads and a protective carry bag as standard, plus a goggle mount, adjustable occipital cradle, and strap splitters — the kind of detail-level thinking you’d expect from a helmet built with pro-level input.
