Adventure in its DNA Don’t let the “entry-level” label fool you. The Croix de Fer 10 carries the exact same DNA as its high-end siblings. Genesis has updated this latest iteration with internal cable routing and dropper post compatibility, ensuring the frame is future-proof and ready for the roughest trails.
Reliable Performance The drivetrain is centred around the dependable Shimano Sora 2 x 9-speed system. Combined with a sub-compact 46/30T chainset, you get a gear range that is as capable on steep woodland climbs as it is on fast road descents. Stopping power is handled by TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes, which offer dual-piston action for a more balanced lever feel and easier maintenance than traditional mechanical systems.
Ready for the Rough Stuff Comfort and grip are provided by the massive 45mm Maxxis Rambler tyres, mounted on tubeless-ready Amplitude G100 wheels. This setup allows you to run lower pressures for increased traction and reduced punctures—essential for those winter miles and early spring adventures. Yes! The bike comes equipped with Amplitude G100 tubeless-ready rims (pre-taped) and Maxxis Rambler tubeless-ready tyres. We even include the tubeless valves in the box to make your setup easy.
Can I fit mudguards and a pannier rack?
Absolutely. The Croix de Fer 10 is famous for its versatility and features dedicated mounts for full-length mudguards and a rear pannier rack, making it an ideal winter trainer or tourer.
What is the maximum tyre clearance?
The frame is designed to comfortably accommodate the stock 700x45mm tyres. If you choose to run mudguards, we recommend a slightly narrower tyre to ensure proper clearance.
Is the frame made of real steel?
Yes, it uses Genesis’ proprietary Mjolnir Chromoly steel, which is cold-drawn and seamless. It provides the classic “steel is real” ride feel—durable, comfortable, and responsive.
